I want to get a Ukulele and learn it one day.. Can’t be too much different from guitar.

I too thought this, so I bought one thinking… what a good idea for festivals… a mini guitar..

Its totally different… chords don’t ‘ring’ so strumming patterns have to be different, chords are different (some same shapes = different chords = confusing), the strings don’t graduate up the scale as guitar strings do (two middle strings are thicker than the outer strings, I’m sure there is a technical term for this but having never had lessons I have no idea :P).

Once you look at the Uke as a totally different instrument to a guitar.. you can start having some super fun playing it! I love mine and for some songs I much prefer the Uke to a guitar :) ‘Hey Soul Sister’ by Train is a perfect example :)
